Best time to begin
Begin around 11:00 AM Monday through Saturday. Lee Lee’s is the main opening-time constraint, while the remaining bakeries operate well into the afternoon. Starting uptown in Harlem and working south keeps the route moving in one direction and leaves plenty of time for the downtown bakeries.

Cost guidance
Plan on about $6–$15 per person at most bakeries, depending on what you choose. Sharing is strongly encouraged—six New York bakeries can add up quickly, and splitting pastries lets you taste more without turning the tour into a sugar marathon.

Parking
New York is the rare Follow the Dough city where public transit is usually easier than driving. The tour stretches from Harlem to SoHo, and street parking can be limited or expensive. Consider subway or rideshare travel between the larger neighborhood jumps, then walk the closely grouped East Village and SoHo portions.

Start uptown and work south. Share pastries whenever possible. Bring a small tote for anything you want to take home, and remember that several signature items can sell out. The Lady Wong–Veniero’s pairing is easily walkable, as is much of the final downtown portion. If the Cronut is a priority, consider preordering before tour day.
