Plan to begin around 9:30–10:00 AM, Wednesday through Friday, for the best chance to experience all six stops. Several bakeries have limited daytime hours, including Welton’s Tiny Bakeshop, which currently closes at 1:00 PM, so an early start keeps the tour relaxed and helps ensure the best pastry selection.

This tour covers several parts of the Charleston area, including Mount Pleasant, the Charleston peninsula, North Charleston, and West Ashley. The downtown stops are close enough that parking once and walking between them may be easier than moving your car for each stop. Plan to drive between the outer-neighborhood stops and allow extra time for downtown parking, traffic, and historic streets.

• Come hungry, but pace yourself. Six stops can add up quickly, so consider sharing biscuits, cookies, cake, and pastries along the way.
• Start early. Welton’s Tiny Bakeshop currently closes at 1:00 PM, and several other bakeries have limited daytime availability. Beginning in the morning also gives you a better chance of finding a wider pastry selection.
• The downtown portion of the tour is especially walkable. Callie’s City Market and Benne’s sit within the Historic District, while Welton’s is farther north on King Street. Consider parking once for that portion of the experience rather than moving your car between every stop.
• At Callie’s, choose a sweet biscuit such as cinnamon when available so the stop remains firmly within the baked-dessert experience.
• At Daddy’s Girls, the Original Charleston Chewie is the essential bite.
• At Benne’s, order a slice of the Ultimate Coconut Cake.
• WildFlour’s famous Sticky Bun Sunday happens on Sunday, so weekday tour visitors should choose from the regular pastry case instead.
